Phuong National Park is located 100km south of Hanoi in Ninh Binh province. The
park is conveniently located on the route to several tourist attractions,
including Bich Dong Pagoda, Hoa Lu, and Sam Son Beach. It was officially opened
in 1960 as the first national park in Vietnam. Cuc Phuong National Park is
surrounded by several limestone cliffs, the highest being May Bac, meaning
"silver cloud," with a height of 656m. There are plenty of plants and
mammals living in the park. There are an estimated 2,000 different species of
flora and the 450 species fauna account for 38% of the national fauna.
Intinerary
Leaving Hanoi at 7.30.
We drive (2.5 hours) 130km to Cuc Phuong National Park. The park is
surrounded by several limestone cliffs, the highest peak being May Bac, meaning
"silver cloud," with a height of 656m. The Park is one of Vietnam’s
most beautiful and important protected areas. The ancient forest contains
almost 2000 species of trees and amongst them lives some amazing and rare
animals including the Clouded leopard, Delacour’s Langur, Owston’s Civet,
Otters and Asian Black Bears! There are plenty of plants and mammals living in
the park as well.
Upon arrival, we take a
walk around the Primates Rescue Center to learn more about the life of
primates in Vietnam. Later on having lunch at the local restaurant then
continue to drive further into the middle of the national park, stop for a
while to visit the Cave of Prehistoric Man then you will trek around 2
hours to discover the wildlifes, birds, trees...in the park. The high light of
the trek is the visit to 1,000 year old tree. Stop to take pictures and
relax before get back to Hanoi. Tour ends at 17:30.
