Despite its commercialization during the last seven years, Sapa is still a must-see on any northern Vietnam itinerary. On a clear day you will treated to views of steeply terraced rice fields, towering verdant ridgelines, primitive mud-thatched villages



Day 1: Cat Cat village (B/L/D).

5h30 - Arrive in Lao Cai. The bus trip to Sa-Pa takes a little more than an hour giving you an idea of the impressive paddy fields panorama. Check into your hotel. 13h00 - Start trekking to Cat Cat (4-5 km) and visit the Hmong ethnic group walking in the paddy –fields. After that, down into the valley, you can see the old hydroelectric power station building (which was built by the French in 1925). Home-stay at the local house.

Day 2: Lao Chai – Ta Van village (B/L/D).

In the morning, start trekking down the valley along local paths and across rice paddies to visit Black Hmong and Giay ethnic groups. Have a picnic lunch along the way. Our jeep picks you up back to Sa-Pa. 17h30 - Bus from hotel in Sa-Pa to Lao Cai. Start 21h to 22h - Night train back to Hanoi (soft sleeper with air-conditioning).
